Cauli Cheese Tots

These cauliflower tots turned out really tasty (actually, yummy)! Quite simple and a great replacement for potato tots.

This recipe is versatile because you can add your choice of cheeses. This recipe uses both mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese. You can also change up the seasoning mixture to add flavors you feel might enhance it more to your liking.

  • 1/2 Cauliflower, steamed
  • 1/3 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 2 TB Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 cup Green Onion, chopped
  • pinch Salt and pepper
  • pinch Garlic powder
  • pinch Onion powder
  • pinch All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 cup Avocado Oil – for frying
  1. Steam cauliflower about 5 min. Put in food processor until mashed. Let cool, then drain water out by putting cauli in a cloth and squeeziing out excess water.

  2. Put drained mashed cauli In a medium mixing bowl. Add shredded cheeses and mix while cauli is still hot.

  3. Add chopped green onions, egg and seasonings to the mix and stir together until well blended.

  4. Scoop out a ball of the mixture and shape into a tot. Do this until all the mixture is used up.

  5. Heat oil in a large frying pan until very hot (sprinkle water over oil to check to see if it sizzles). Place each tot into the pan and fry on one side until browned on edges (about 5 minutes). Then flip and brown other side.

  6. Place cooked tots on a paper towel to soak up excess oil. Then serve!
